The Flag

"Liwa al-Shahada" or "The Martyrdom Brigade", is a Shia-Muslim militia operating in Iraq, based in al-Zubayr in Basra province. It is affiliated with the office of the religious marjaiyya (Shia religious authority) in al-Zubayr and claims several divisions. The militia has claimed joint missions with Iranian proxy "Kataib Hezbolla" and "Liwa Ali al-Akbar"; c. 2020.
